We invite you to the shores of Sicily for the intrigue, drama, wit and wisdom of "Much Ado About Nothing".
It's the 1960s, and change is in the air ... on a sun-drenched island steeped in tradition, the old order is about to be shaken up by a new spirit of liberation, as our thoroughly modern heroine, Beatrice, determines not to be "overmastered". With original music inspired by everything from Sicilian Tarantella to 1960s Italian pop, this bold production of one of Shakespeare's best loved comedies is not to be missed.
Important Information
How do I access the Actors' Church?
There are usually five entrances to the Actors' Church - only one will be open for this performance. This entrance can be found in Covent Garden Piazza, next to King Street. It is a short walk from Covent Garden station.
What if I require step-free entry to the church?
Please let the venue know if you require step-free entry to the Actors' Church - they will be able to open one of their step-free entrances for you. Please note, there is no step-free access to the performance area, and this production is not suitable for wheelchair users.
What time do you open?
Access to the church grounds will be from 45 minutes before the start of the performance.
How do I book a specific seat?
This performance has unreserved seating, and is on a first come, first served basis. Alternatively, if you would prefer to bring your own chair or picnic blanket, please let the Front of House staff know, and they will do their best to seat you. There is a good view from wherever you're sat!
Do you sell refreshments?
There will be a bar open from 45 minutes before the performance starts, during the interval, and for 30 minutes following the end of the performance. You will be able to purchase cold drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), including Prosecco, Pimm's and other favourites.
Can I bring a picnic?
This is an indoor production but you are welcome to bring food and sit in the garden beforehand. Please note we do not allow alcohol from offsite.
Are there toilets?
Yes, there are gender neutral bathrooms located on the first floor of the church. There is also an access toilet located within the foyer of the church. Access to the church is step free.
What happens if it rains?
The Great British summertime is famous for its unpredictable weather! In 99% of chances, the performance will continue come rain or shine. In cases of heavy rain, it may be necessary to halt the performance for a short period. In the unlikely circumstance of extreme weather (including extreme heat), the performance may be postponed until a further date.
Do please dress for the weather accordingly! If possible, try to avoid bringing umbrellas as they can block sight-lines for other audience members. Raincoats and ponchos are just as fetching - the venue can provide free ponchos for audience members without any suitable cover!
